Blading (Graston) Therapy

Home | Blading (Graston) Therapy

Break down scar tissue. Restore smooth, pain-free movement.

Blading Therapy, also known as Graston Technique, is an advanced form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM). It involves using specially designed stainless-steel tools (or "blades") to detect and treat areas of soft tissue restriction, scar tissue, or chronic inflammation.

At VerSano Clinics, our trained practitioners use blading therapy to promote faster healing, reduce pain, and improve mobility — particularly for athletes or those recovering from repetitive strain injuries.

How Can It Help Me?

Blading therapy can be highly effective if you:

  • Suffer from chronic muscle tightness or pain

  • Are recovering from injuries or post-surgical scar tissue

  • Struggle with tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, or IT band syndrome

  • Experience limited mobility or inflammation due to repetitive movements

  • Want a proactive recovery tool to stay injury-free during sports training

It works by increasing blood flow, breaking down adhesions, and stimulating the healing response of the body.

When Should I Book?

You should consider booking a session if:

  • You’ve tried stretching or massage, but still feel stuck or stiff

  • You’re dealing with persistent sports-related or occupational injuries

  • You want to speed up recovery after an injury or surgery

  • You're looking to improve mobility and function in scarred or restricted areas

  • You want to reduce pain and inflammation without relying on medications

This therapy is commonly used by physiotherapists, chiropractors, and sports rehab specialists across the world and it’s now available at Versano.

Many patients who book osteopathy also benefit from:

  • Physiotherapy – for movement retraining and rehabilitation

  • Sports Massage – to release tight muscles and support recovery

  • Postural Assessment – to identify strain caused by everyday habits

  • Cranial Osteopathy – especially useful for headaches, jaw tension, and stress

What to Expect in a Session

During a blading therapy session:

  • We begin with a movement and palpation assessment to locate areas of restriction

  • Stainless steel tools are gently used over the skin to release tight tissue

  • Some mild redness or sensitivity may occur – this is a natural part of healing

  • Your practitioner may combine it with Physiotherapy or Sports Massage

  • You may be given stretches or mobility exercises to support results

Most clients notice significant improvements in movement and pain levels within a few sessions.
